“Nobody Lives Here Now” will be developed during a one-week residency at the August 2016 Festival du Haut Limousin in Villefavard, in the Haute-Vienne department in the Limousin region of France. Joe Goode Performance Group (JGPG) will create the work in collaboration with Quatuor Varèse, an innovative young French string quartet.

How does one find one’s place in the void when all points of reference disappear around one? How does one continue to move, to live? Resilience can come from holding onto one’s memories, drawing lessons from their lethal histories.
As always, Joe Goode starts with an intensely emotional subject to create a complete spectacle where danse is linked to theatre and music. His humour and optimism make his visual and resonant creations into a unique moment of arresting beauty. The Quatuor Varese will accompany six actor-dancers from the Joe-Goode Company, drawing from the chamber music repertoireof composers such as Schubert, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich, Ades… to illustrate the choreographic compositions.
This French-American production brings the festival, so centered on cultural exchange, to a brilliant close.

Co-production: Joe Goode Performance Group, Festival du Haut Limousin, and the Writing Workshop. This production is sponsored by USArtists International via the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
